Originally from Illinois, I moved to Austin in 2010 for a change of scenery and to escape the bone-chilling Chicago winters. For the first month, most of my time was spent exploring the Greenbelt and developing a love for my new home. Shortly after my arrival, I accepted a role as a Recruiter for a boutique staffing company where I realized that I had a knack for accounting and anything that required an eye for detail. I soon took on Accounting Manager roles, splitting my time between two offices, where I learned the ins and out of budgeting, contracts, and reporting. Having always had a passion for animals and, more recently, trying to find ways to ‘do my part’, I was thrilled to accept the role as Operations Associate with GWC where I can support the people making a huge difference worldwide. As part of the Operations team, I help to manage the flow of donations, expenses, and grants that come through the office daily. Former biker. Current wannabe traveler. Live music enthusiast. In reality, most of my time is spent making sure that my dog is happy.
